my life has changed dramatically for the better, and it's all thanks to an amazing coincidence.

my aunt, who is a travel agent, had booked some flights for a family from mexico. initially, the 20 year old daughter was going to stay in canada for six months. her family was to stay here with her for two weeks, but they had to go home a week early. the daughter, georgina, has since realized that she misses them too much and doesn't want to stay here that long. however, they could not get a flight back to mexico for her for another week. so rather than having her stay in a hotel, my aunt mentioned that she had young nieces (i.e. sarah and i) that might be willing to put her up for a week.

so georgina is staying with us!! she is muy muy tierna!! there is no english translation for that word, but it basically means that she is fantastically warm and kind and loving. she and kaylin and myself spent all day together yesterday, and it already feels like we are sisters. i can't believe that she can only stay here for a week. i wish she could live with us forever.

i'm learning spanish SOOOO quickly. my understanding of it has gone from extremely, extremely limited to 80% comprehension in ONE DAY. one day! gina's english is very good, but we all want to learn spanish too so the conversations have been split pretty evenly between the two languages. kaylin has been great at "traduc-ing" (translating, hah). her 4 months in ecuador have definitely paid off. she's almost fluent, so she and gina became close immediately.

yesterday we went to glenn's house and jammed all night. everyone had major coluda's (hangovers) but it was still awesome. gina was so cute, dancing in her chair while we played.

it's unbelievable. never in my life has one person had such an impact on me in such a short amount of time. i'm definitely going to stay with her in mexico. she is from toluca, which is about a half hour's drive from mexico city. but her grandmother lives in acapulco and she really wants us to go there to visit.

i just wish i wasn't working so i could be with her.
